Some big news for Release Management, hot off the presses from TechEd!

Brian Harry was just talking about DevOps and Release Management, and shared the following tidbits with us:

  • Release Management is going to natively support Desired State Configuration, starting with RM Update 3.
  • RM Update 3 CTP 1 is coming out in around a week (so, May 19th), with support for DSC.
  • RM is going to have the capability to connect to your Azure subscription and deploy to your IaaS virtual machines via Desired State Configuration
  • More features to follow in CTP2, CTP3, etc.

Very exciting stuff! Check back here next week, I'll be posting all about Update 3 CTP 1 and these new features. And, if you want to learn more about Desired State Configuration, here are the two blog posts that introduce how it works: DSC 101 - DSC 102.
