How would you like to watch your favorite major league soccer games from across the globe? “This week, Next Generation Sports Network (NGSN) launched the beta version of their sports website and mobile apps that will allow for subscribers in the United States” to do this. Rule the world for on-demand and live sports? That’s NGSN’s goal for their new subscription service; they’ve obtained live broadcasting rights for seven “key European and South American soccer leagues including the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela.” The NGSN has plans later this year to go beyond just soccer.

The NGSN team last May collaborated with the Microsoft Services team and the Netherlands team to “build a solution [to meet] their specific requirements.” To provide the scalable, dependable and global platform required to meet their specific needs, “the team turned to Azure Media Services to meet these requirements.” What’s great, is that because of the Microsoft Cloud, within a short amount of time the NGSN was able to go from conception to completion. “Microsoft Azure Media Services is a comprehensive platform built on a market-proven public cloud, [which] reduces the amount of money and resources which broadcasters and premium content owners have had to spend on hosting, managing, supporting and distributing their media.”

Anywhere? Anytime? That’s right you can watch on any Wi-Fi or mobile device. As an avid sports fan, especially soccer, I think this is awesome!
