If you've talked to me about TFS at all in the past 6 months, I've probably talked your ear off about "Build vNext" or "Build Preview", the new cross-platform, cross-technology build system coming in TFS 2015 that's going to totally replace the awkward, hard-to-modify XAML build system that we've had since TFS 2010.
If you're a Visual Studio Online user, you may have noticed a "Build Preview" tab appear today. That's right, the new build system has entered public preview. You can either set up your own on-premise build agents (you can install it from npm if you want to use Node.js, or you can install the native Windows version if you'd prefer that instead), or make use of the Microsoft-hosted build agents.
If you're an on-premise TFS user, you'll have to wait a bit longer until TFS 2015 is released, but there's nothing stopping you from signing up for a Visual Studio Online account and playing around with it for free.
Now that the cat's out of the bag on Build Preview, I want to do a couple of blog posts going into some more depth with Build Preview, including doing things like integrating it with Release Management. Check back soon!
